The incumbent will be responsible for providing support to the Hospital Division Finance team, in performing

general finance functions so as to enhance the reporting on the organisational financial performance in order to

achieve Strategic objectives.


Financial Processing

 Timely and accurate processing of monthly rental income / expense in line with supporting agreements.

 Timely and accurate processing of assessment rates and taxes transactions.

 Ensuring appropriate accruals are raised on a monthly basis for rent as well as rates and taxes as required.

 Capex ordering for the division.

Financial Reporting

 Reviewing budgeted intercompany charges vs actuals and following up on any discrepancies before GL


 Preparing a monthly recon illustrating that Divisional Interco charges eliminate.

 Liaising with property division to verify completeness of rental income and expenses and ensuring that all

property rentals are supported by valid signed agreements.

 Assisting with extracting and collating data for the preparation of monthly divisional debtors’ reports.

 Monitoring the reconciliations between the legacy system debtors vs SAP and following up on variances.

 Coordinating monthly disclosure submissions to ensure deadlines are met.

 Monthly review of repairs and maintenance for items to be capitalised and follow up on the capitalisation

until completion

 Assist financial manager in following up on annual financial statement queries between Hospitals, Drafters

and Auditors to ensure queries are timely resolved.

 Assist with coordinating timely annual financial statements sign off by all relevant parties.

 Assisting with the preparation of interim and year-end disclosure packs.

Budgeting and Forecasting

 Assist with the preparation of budget / forecasts input data for rental income / expenses as well as

assessment rates and taxes, taking into consideration deferred lease impact and possible renewal of leases.

 Prepare a reconciliation of budgeted rent to illustrate the reason for variances.

Central Hospital Division Processes and Support

 Assist with collating data required for the preparation of the WCA calculations.

 Completing online return of earnings and collating notice of assessments received from Department of


 Ensuring that monthly WCA journals are processed

 Support the financial manager in continuous central financial processes optimisation and implementation

of new or changed financial processing processes.

 Involvement in Ad hoc hospital division projects.

 Resolution of queries from relevant stakeholders.

 Aggregation and interpretation of feedback from relevant stakeholders.

 Liaise with relevant parties to resolve queries as they may arise.

 Provide support to the financial manager.

 Provide support during Audits.




 BCom degree (Financial Accounting III required) or equivalent NQF level 7 qualification

 Affiliation with a recognised accounting body will be advantageous.



 A minimum of 3 years working experience in finance and financial reporting.

 Excellent knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or GAAP.

 Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced level).

 Highly proficient in SAP.

 Experience in project, system or process implementation and budget preparation will be advantageous.
